Gigabyte Announces W480 Vision Motherboards

Gigabyte announced its latest boards to its Gigabyte Vision product line, the W480 Vision series creator and workstation motherboards. These motherboards are specifically designed for the latest Intel Xeon W and 10th Gen Core processors which supports up to 12 phase digital power and features 4 memory slots that supports dual-channel ECC and non-ECC unbuffered DDR4 memory, Intel 2.5GbE + 1 GbE dual-server-level network and other advanced features. Also designed with content creators in mind, it supports Thunderbolt 3 for advanced display requirements, Intel Wi-Fi 6 for faster wireless connections and SATA DOM to make the construction of the workstation more efficient and stable. The W480 Vision series motherboards completes the lineup of Gigabyte‘s Vision product line which includes the previously launched Vision memory, Z490 Vision motherboards and other related products.

For content creators, reducing error correction and shortening creation time is the best way to save on costs. It’s simple math, faster output, less resources you need to spend. Intel‘s latest Xeon W processor focuses on the professional creator platform which provides security and stability. It can also perform cloud computing, real-time analysis, mission-critical business processing and large data processing more accurately. It’s also more tuned for VFX, 3D compilation, 3D CAD, AI development and edge deployment. With the support of ECC, or Error Correcting Code, memory, it can easily detect and repair memory leaks and reduce the possibility of system crashes and data corruption, giving professionals the peace of mind they need to pump out more creative content.

The Gigabyte W480 Vision series motherboards support Multi-GPU technology to boost graphical performance. To keep your expensive GPUs cool and able to perform optimally, the spacing in between cards provides adequate airflow. Gigabyte  also provided the W480 Vision D has built-in Thunderbolt 3 which provides 2 sets of USB Type-C interfaces that can provide up to 40 GB/s channels per channel. It’s also ultra-high bandwidth that can transfer large files in an instant. A very nifty feature if you’re working with 8k cameras. Creators can also directly connect high-end pen displays without having the need for additional dongles or PCI-e add-on cards.

For workstation users, connectivity is of utmost importance. Gigabyte W480 Vision series motherboards come with dual Intel server-level network designs that can provide both 2.5GbE and 1 GbE network function and supports vPro technology. In addition, the W480 Vision D has an Intel WiFi 6 802.11ax network adapter and high-gain smart antenna to deliver up to 2.4Gbps transmission speed. These standards ensures that users have excellent flexibility when it comes to network-related crucial workloads.

To ensure high quality power delivery to components under load, the W480 Vision series motherboards uses Gigabyte‘s leading motherboard power design and VRM thermal, using up to 12-phase direct power design paired with highly durable DrMOS. Solid power pin connectors ensures stable power delivery while reducing excess heat during high workload to prevent thermal throttling and make the processor more stable to ensure optimum uptime. The newly designed fins array, direct-touch heat pipe, large heat sink plus and Smart Fan 5 technology not only improves thermal dissipation but also gives the W480 Vision motherboards its signature look, combining function with style.

The W480 Vision motherboards use PCIe 4.0-grade PCBs, PCI-e slots, M.2 slots and controllers for highest bandwidth quality. M.2 slots have large heat dissipation films that ensures optimum temperature during operation for M.2 SSDs. In addition, the W480 Vision W and W480M Vision W have 10 built-in SATA interfaces which allow users to build multi-disk RAID settings without additional add-on cards. Furthermore, SATA DOM ports designed in the W480M Vision W motherboard can increase the speed of SATA devices while maintaining high reliability.

Gigabyte also outfitted the W480 Vision motherboards with the ALC 1220-VB audio engine with WIMA FKP2 studio-grade audio capacitors to deliver studio-grade, high-quality audio without the need for a separate sound card. Additionally, it natively supports DTS:X Ultra to deliver the highest quality of audio.

The W480 Vision series motherboards set new standards in reliability, performance and aesthetics for building workstation-level computing. Reliability in the form of ECC Memory, along with quality power delivery and high-end thermal dissipation.
