Team Liyab Secures a Slot in the PPGL for Arena of Valor Finals

Team Liyab, the professional esports team of Globe in partnership with Mineski,  has earned a spot at the Globe Philippine Pro Gaming League – Arena of Valor (PPGL-AOV) championships this season.

During the preliminaries, they bested Gorilla Gaming and Resurgence through their focus, determination, patience, and teamwork.

The next two weeks shall be very busy for Team Liyab-Arena of Valor as they take their journey to the next level. The team recently displayed their capability when they beat 24 other teams during the Philippine closed qualifiers and earned the right to represent the country in this year’s ESL Clash of Nations – Arena of Valor 2019 Culminating Regional tournament to be held in Indonesia.

The Indonesia tournament will have Team Liyab compete with some of the best esports athletes in the region such as M8HEXA from Singapore and Malaysia, FAPtv from Vietnam, Devita of Thailand and two of the best teams from host IndonesiaEVOS Esports & Saudara Esports. The teams will all try to bring home, aside from the ESL Clash of Nations regional crown, a share of the 50,000 usd prize pool.

Then a week after, Team Liyab will head off to battle with other top teams such as Bren Esports, Kidlat Esports, and Resurgence for the grand title at the Globe PPGL Arena of Valor Season 4 this coming April 6-7, 2019. Team Liyab AOV will also be with Team Liyab League of Legends as both teams have entered the PPGL 2019 finals, with hopes to win the championships for both League of Legends and Arena of Valor.

Globe continues to be at the forefront of developing the esports ecosystem in the country and believes that with the right support and training, Filipino esports athletes can compete with any esports team in the world.

Globe’s esports commitment began through its pervasive LTE network that helped bring mobile broadband gaming to the next level. Then, the company entered into strategic partnerships with Riot, developer of League of Legends, Garena, publisher of Arena of Valor and Philippine publisher of League of Legends, and Mineski which ultimately led to the formation of Team Liyab.
