HBO has released the first official trailer for the upcoming second season of His Dark Materials today at Comic-Con@Home.
The trailer includes the first glimpse of the city of Cittàgaze as well as footage of new series cast members Andre Scott as John Parry, Jade Anouka as Ruta Skadi, and Simone Kirby as Dr. Mary Malone. Returning case members are Dafne Keen as Lyra, Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Coulter, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Boreal, Amir Wilson as Will, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby.
The second season of His Dark Materials, has us see Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) who has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra (Dafne Keen) follows Asriel into the unknown. Lyra meets Will (Amir Wilson), a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Lyra and Will learn their destinies are tied to reuniting Will with his father but find their path is constantly thwarted as war begins to brew around them. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.
