War Child Puts Pop Culture Items in Auction for Coronavirus Crowdfund

UK non-governmental organization War Child has organized the Emergency Coronavirus Crowdfunder to raise 400,000 GBP (₱26,041,231.34) to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children in war-torn areas such as Syria, Afghanistan, and the Central African Republic. With the coronavirus pandemic posing another threat to their safety, the NGO has started the fundraiser with this concern in mind:

With schools shut and families pushed further into poverty by lockdown and recession, children living in conflict zones are more at risk than ever from child labour and recruitment into armed groups.

The crowdfunding event features the sale of limited edition items, auctions, and raffles which feature fan memorabilia or experiences. Some featured items are the Captain America shield signed by actor Chris Evans, Yennefer’s mask worn by Anya Chalotra in The Witcher season one, Finn Wolfhard’s Stranger Things jacket, and a Harry Potter Wizard’s Chess set signed by Rupert Grint.
