Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro Now Comes in OLED

Lenovo announced at CES that the 14-inch Yoga Slim 7i Pro laptop is getting the OLED treatment. The new Yoga Slim 7i Pro comes with a 14-inch OLED 90Hz panel and is Intel Evo certified which means it features the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors with either an Intel Iris X graphics or up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 discrete GPU.

OLEDs have long been an industry-standard in cinematography and photography as it produces accurate colors and deep blacks. It’s also as thin as paper and each OLED in the panel produces its own light, eliminating the need for a separate LED strip to illuminate the screen. The O in OLED means organic, which means organic films are fitted in the panel and stimulated by electricity to produce colors. This enables brighter whites and darker blacks, and vibrant colors.

Why are OLEDs only now being introduced? Well for one, they used to be very expensive. But with today’s technology, OLEDs can now be produced where consumers can enjoy the benefits without having the budget of a Hollywood studio. It also helps the environment as OLED panel manufacturing is more eco-friendly as it don’t require greenhouse gases as opposed to traditional LCD panels.

The OLED in the Yoga Slim 7i Pro is produced by Samsung Display, one of the best panel makers in the industry. It’s available in resolutions up to 2.8K (2880×1800) with up to 90Hz of refresh rate. Its taller 16:10 aspect ratio provides more real estate, 720 pixels taller to be exact. OLED’s chrominance attributes, or chroma, are amplified 1.25x over LCD, giving it a wide range of color frequency. It has an impressive 100% DCI-P3 and 125% sRGB coverage, giving content creators more control to their media, very ideal for high-end photo and video editing. The Yoga Slim 7i Pro truly pushes the limits of picture quality.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the Yoga Slim 7i Pro and make sure that you guys get the rundown on how it feels like to consume and create content on an OLED laptop.
