Youtube Music Launches in the Philippines Giving Spotify A Run For Its Money Haoson November 20, 2019 Digital In the music streaming app category, there has been one dominating brand that has people tuning in their smart devices and listening to. But it seems like the streaming giant, Spotify is finally getting solid competition with Youtube Music. Officially launched in a special intimate event last Thursday at 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub in Ortigas. Invited media and musicians were gathered for Youtube‘s answer to the music streaming market with Youtube Music. As a stand alone app (for mobile), Youtube Music has all the bells and whistles expected from a music streaming app. However, what it brings into the table is access to the various music videos uploaded officially (by bands, record labels, etc.) or “unofficially” by fans (see what I did there) that you can access through the app or from the site itself. Filipinos love music. Every day, people use YouTube to access their favorite songs and music videos to accompany them in their day-to-day activities, the launch of YouTube Music here in the Philippines gives them a whole new way to enjoy the music they love and more excitingly, introduces them to exclusive covers and originals that they cannot find elsewhere. Shared Gabby Roxas, Head of Marketing of Google Philippines. Subscription to Youtube Music‘s premium features costs 129 php. This gives subscribers ad-free music, listening in the background and downloading of these songs (or videos) to be accessed through the app if you have no internet connection. Adding 30 php to the monthly subscription also gives you access to Youtube Premium, which pretty much gives you the above mentioned features but for Youtube‘s video service. Other subscription options include a student rate, and family (for up to five (5) other family members living in the same household). To find out more, you can head here. You can access your Youtube Music sign up to 10 devices but you can only play one at a time.
