If you’re looking for laptops that will help you work smarter with your tasks and boost your productivity in style, these new machines from Lenovo is just in time for the holiday gift-giving season. Go on, treat yourself.

Lenovo introduced a new lineup of premium consumer products aimed at enabling better, transformative user experiences with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i, which has a genuine leather cover; the Lenovo Yoga 9i, a 2-in-1 convertible laptop; and the savagely powerful Lenovo Legion Slim 7i gaming laptop.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i/Yoga 9i

Talk about plush! Both of these models can have the option of having a black genuine leather cover, a first for Lenovo’s consumer laptops. Both the Yoga Slim 9i and Yoga 9i are powered by the next generation of Intel Core processors with the Yoga 9i 15″ model to feature up to an i9 HK-series mobile processor paired with an NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti with Max-Q design for optimum battery life.

If you’re ever tired of the plain old boring plastic lid with the light-up logo of most laptops in the past decade, the 14-inch Yoga Slim 9i comes with an authentic leather cover, it’s optional on the 14″ Yoga 9i convertible. Lenovo told us that it uses a 20-step bonding process which allows the leather to retain its original look and makes each product unique because of the imperfections and creases by the material. It’s handcrafted and we definitely need to get our hands on these models. The YOGA logo is heat stamped and coated with a reflective gloss to make it stand out. And before you go nuts about the material, know that the quality materials are responsibly sourced by a leading leather developer behind many of today’s popular brands.

If leather’s not your stuff, you can have them in all-metal and multiplate colors, including the warm Mica on the 14-inch and Slate Grey on the 15-inch model.

Let’s start with the Yoga Slim 9i. This one just screams premium in and out. It’s thin, it’s light, it’s got all the bells and whistles. It comes in at around 1.26kg with a 13.9mm body. It offers up to a 4K touchscreen IPS VESA DisplayHDR, which is a mouthful and lets you know it’s the stuff with that amount of certification. The stunning visuals are delivered by Dolby Vision for ultra-vivid picture quality and immersive sounds with the Dolby Atmos Speaker System via the dual front-facing speakers on the Yoga Slim 9i. The Yoga Slim 9i with UHD display also offers a 3D Curved-edge Display as a premium option which is inspired by the smartphone industry. Both of these Yoga laptops also features Super Resolution 2.0 which helps in upscaling 1080p video content to 4K with the assistance of machine learning in Windows Media Player and today’s popular browsers.

The Lenovo Yoga 9i, which is a 2-in-1, brings you high caliber visuals in a thin and light package. There are added thermal venting holes underneath the keyboard which lowers the device’s temperature by an average of 2 degrees over the previous models. Lenovo also increased the size of the heat vent behind the Yoga 9i‘s rotating hinge, while slimming down the fan blades. The Yoga 9i comes in either a 14-inch and 15-inch display. The 15-inch model can be configured with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and up to 2TB PCIe SSD for your storage. Both models come with Windows Ink and a garaged active pen that recharges inside the PC. If you prefer the feel of a real pen, the new elastomer nib on the Yoga 9i replicates a nicer, smoother tactile feel when writing. The 14-inch offers an edge-to-edge Glass Palm Rest option which looks very premium and is very smooth to the touch. It has a Smart Sensor Touchpad which provides haptic feedback that simulates the feeling of a real click. Oh, it’s also coated in a fingerprint-resistant finish. The new Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader is liquid-resistant and works even when you just sanitized your hand, which reminds me to remind you guys to always wash your hands!

What sets these laptops apart are their smarter features that give users added convenience. One such thing is you can power up your Lenovo laptop just by lifting the lid, that’s one less step to do to get you to your desktop up and running. The improved keyboards come with soft-landing dome design keypads that are very comfortable and responsive and the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i even comes with the Smart Sense Keyboard that adjusts your keyboard’s backlighting depending on ambient light conditions.

Both laptops value your privacy with the Yoga 9i having Lenovo’s TrueBlock Privacy Shutter, a physical cover that you can conveniently slide to block your web camera. And featured for the first time in the Yoga Slim 9i, and to keep its slim form factor without compromising the user’s security, there’s an electrical shutter switch on the side to cut power to the built-in infrared camera for your peace of mind. Lenovo’s Smart Assist helps the IR camera and Windows Hello function to give you a hands-free experience when logging in with facial recognition. It also has a shoulder-surfing Privacy Alert and the screen will automatically lock if it detects that you walked away from the machine, thanks to the attention sensing software from Glance by Mirametrix. It even has an alarm that will wail its drivers out if someone moved it without your permission if it senses that you have your back away from it.

For even more hands-free functionality, the Lenovo Yoga laptop’s microphones are integrated to Alexa even when your laptop is locked. You can set reminders, control your smart home, control your music playback without touching your machine. You can even send commands to Alexa-enabled devices. Plus Lenovo promises to unlock more features in the coming months from Alexa that will help you stay connected to the Internet of Things.

Lenovo is upgrading the battery too from a 52Whr battery to a bigger 63.5Whr battery wich smarter dual charging built into the new Yoga Slim 9i. Lenovo claims of up to 20 hours of battery life, and that depends, of course, on how you use your device. Keep all your devices connected with up to 3 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 that’s compatible with a wide array of accessories to help you work more efficiently and with less clutter from cables.
