ASUS ZenPower 10050

With power banks becoming all the more staple in modern life these days getting bigger capacity ones is pretty important than ever. ASUS has produced higher capacity power banks and I’ve been given the opportunity to review the ZenPower 10050.

Here’s the tech specs of the ZenPower 10050.

Tech specs:

  • Capacity: 10050 mAh
  • Output: DC 5.1V 2.4A
  • Weight: 215g
  • Battery: Lithium-ion rechargeable cell
  • Colors: Pink, Gold, Black, Silver, Blue
  • SRP: 815 php

Experience

With the size being around 90.5 x 59 x 22 mm, the ASUS ZenPower 10050 power bank is something that you can bring around with you even with the smaller bags. Though a bit heavier and thicker than the ASUS ZenPower Slim 6000, the device is still handy to use.

The power bank has reported that you can charge the following devices these many times:

  • ZenFone 5: over three times
  • ZenFone 6: over two times
  • ZenFone 2: over two times
  • Nexus 7: over one time

I was able to test out the capability of the power bank and it’s claims that it can fully charge the ZenFone 5 over three times but the most I was able to do is to charge it for two times from 10% – 100%. Which in itself isn’t really bad since it means I can have the phone survive around two days only relying on the ZenPower 10050 as it’s charging partner.

Features

The ZenPower 10050 is pretty much your standard run of the mill power bank with what you’d expect from it.

It has the usual ports with the USB Type-C (Micro USB) as it’s voltage in charging and a USB port for voltage out. It has five lights as it’s capacity indicator and a power button that you need to press to start charging (and lights up the indicators).

The ZenPower 10050 also has the ZenPower Bumper cover that claims to protect the power bank from scratches, and impacts. And based on my experience, the bumper does protect the power bank from scratches while, it does provide minimum protection from impact since the bumper is a bit thick. One feature that the ZenPower Bumper provides to is that it adds grip for the power bank since the surface of the ZenPower 10050 is very slippery.

Final Thoughts

The ZenPower 10050 is an essential travelling companion for someone who’s always on the go. It’s compact, easy to bring around, and it’s fast charging capability puts this power bank ahead of the rest of those in the market. It’s hefty but solid feel reassures you that your phone is in fact safe hands when you plug it on the road. While the caveat here is that it does take a while to get the power bank to fully charge, the ZenPower 10050 doesn’t disappoint when it comes to charging your devices.
