AMD Launches the A520 Chipset

AMD launched the A520 chipset to complete its lineup of 500 series motherboards for the 3rd generation of Ryzen Desktop Processors. The A520 gives users another option when choosing to build an AMD system. The A520 is more on the entry-level spectrum of boards and offers the most basic features for a motherboard. It has 26x usable PCIe 3.0 lanes when used with a 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU. It can also support up to 5 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, up to 2 native USB 3.1 ports and up to 6 native USB 2.0 ports.

In addition to supporting the 3rd generation of Ryzen CPUs, the A520 chipset also gives the users an upgrade path as it’s designed to support future Ryzen processors based on the Zen 3 architecture.
