Licensed digital bank Tonik Digital Bank, Inc. (“Tonik”) has expanded its digital offerings by launching direct mobile load top-ups, telco promo bundles, and mobile game credits inside the Tonik app. The rollout aims to integrate the bank into its customers’ daily routines by simplifying frequent everyday transactions.
Shifting from Monthly Banking to Daily Engagement
While traditional banking apps are typically accessed a few times a month for salary credits, bill payments, or loan settlements, mobile load and gaming purchases happen on a much higher frequency. By embedding these small-ticket transactions into its platform, Tonik provides users with a single app to manage both their financial accounts and daily connectivity needs.
“Most people open their banking app because they have to. We want ours opened because it’s useful,” said Greg Krasnov, Founder and CEO of Tonik. “Our luvs already trust us with their savings and their loans. Load and game credits are small purchases, but they happen every week. Every one of them is another reason to stay with us instead of bouncing between five different apps to get simple things done. That is how an account turns into a relationship.”
Supported Services, Features, and Compliance Policies
The new feature set covers major Philippine telecommunications networks and popular gaming titles:
- Supported Telco Providers: Globe, Smart, TNT, TM, DITO, and GOMO.
- Telco Offerings: Mobile load top-ups and promo bundles covering data, calls, and SMS text packages.
- Supported Game Titles: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Roblox, Riot Games, Genshin Impact, and PUBG Mobile across mobile and PC platforms.
- Recipient Flexibility: Users can send mobile load, promos, or game credits to any mobile number without additional processing fees.
- Instant Delivery: Telco promos and loads are credited directly to the recipient number, while gaming credits are delivered via SMS.
- Responsible Banking Standard: Tonik strictly excludes credits, PINs, or voucher purchases for online gambling, e-casino, or e-sabong products.
This functional expansion complements Tonik’s core credit-led strategy. Following its milestone in Q1 2026—where it achieved positive cash net income as the first standalone digital bank in the Philippines—the bank continues to build customer retention around its core lending services through daily value-added features.
