Samsung Electronics Philippines officially launched its newest flagship, the Galaxy Note 9, at the Grand Ballroom of the Manila Marriott Hotel last Tuesday, August 14, 2018. The event gathers the Samsung representatives, dealer-partners, and media outlets as they uncover the offerings of the Note 9, as well as introduce its brand ambassadors: celebrity chef Erwan Heussaff, actor/painter Heart Evangelista-Escudero, and businessman/self-proclaimed Instagram husband Nico Bolzico.

As described in the product demonstration during the event, the Galaxy Note 9 boasts of the following features:

  • 6.4 in (16.26 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels
  • Android v8.1 (Oreo) operating system
  • Octa core (2.7 GHz, Quad core, M3 Mongoose + 1.7 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A55) processor paired with 6 GB of RAM
  • Battery life of 4000 mAh
  • 8 MP front and 12 MP x 2 rear cameras, both equipped for low light conditions
  • Sensors – Light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor, retina scanning, face recognition
  • Mali-G72 MP18 GPU
  • 128/512 GB memory, expandable up to 1 TB
  • 8.8 mm thickness and 201 g weight
  • Stereo speakers tuned by AKG and powered by Dolby Atmos

One outstanding feature of the Note 9 is its dedicated S Pen, which is Bluetooth-connected. It enables the user to take selfies, browse through files, and activate applications from up to a 10-meter radius. It lasts for around 200 clicks/30 minutes of continuous usage, with only 40 seconds charging time when inserted into its port on the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is available for pre-order here. The 512 GB variant will only be available during the pre-order period up to August 19, 2018 and costs 75,990 php. The Note 9 will be available in stores nationwide on August 24, 2018 for a suggested retail price of 55,990 php.
