ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) introduced its latest lineup of gaming laptops at CES 2019 that are all powered by the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX engines which are namely the:

  • ROG Mothership
  • ROG Zephyrus S GX701
  • ROG Zephyrus S GX531
  • ROG Strix SCAR II (GL 504 and GL 704)
  • ROG Strix Hero II

ROG Mothership

The ROG GZ700 is a 17.3-inch gaming laptop with a vertical design, Surface-style pop-up kickstand, and detachable folding keyboard.

ROG Zephyrus S GX701/ Zephyrus S GX531

The Zephyrus S GX531 delivers a compact body by providing a slender exterior that measures only 15mm thin and leverages a 15.6” display with super-narrow bezels.

The ROG Zephyrus S GX531 contains Intel Core i7-8750H CPU, a 144Hz refresh rate display. ASUS also squeezed into a slimmer package that lacks some of the extras available in the new compact 17” ROGZephyrus S GX701. The company aimed to have the Zephyrus S as a more focused alternative for people who prioritize portability above everything else.

ROG Strix Scar II

The ROG Strix Scar II (GL504) along with it’s MOBA edition will get the upgraded RTX 2060 video card. With the Scar II 15.6″ and 17.3″ configurations, the FPS centric laptop has the WASD keys that was clearly made to be maximized by FPS players.

ROG Strix Hero II

As it’s predecessor, the ROG Strix Hero II (GL504), is designed for a wider audience with an addition to it’s already classic design of having subtler styling. As the complete opposite of the more aggressively designed Scar II, the WASD are not highlighted, but instead the QWER keys have an extra glow. The Hero II also comes with the GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. Similarly to the Scar II, the Hero II also comes with the Nvidia Optimus technology that helps in power conservation by only activating the discrete GPU when needed.

Both the Hero II and Scar II will have the 2070 configurations aside from the RTX 2060 ones.
