Pre-registration for Detective Conan Horizontal Runner Game Now Ongoing

Among the things you’d think that game companies would work on, you never thought Detective Conan would get a game that doesn’t even have you solve crimes. So say hi to the free-to-play mobile Detective Conan horizontal runner game, Race to the Truth.

I know it’s a bit on the nose, ain’t it?

So Race to the Truth has us retrace back previous Conan cases as you control Conan Edogawa on horizontal running stages trying to get points and jump through obstacles in the game. Typical to games like these, one of their draws is that you can actually see illustrations from the series plus a few original illustrations for the game (somewhere down the line).

Detective Conan was originally created by Gosho Aoyama in 1994 for Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. The story follows high schooler detective Shinichi Fudo who works with the police to solve cases. When investigating a crime syndicate known as the Black Organization, he was poisoned. But inside of killing him, the poison reverts him to a child. Using his new childhood alias Conan and keeping his true identity a secret, he vows to solve more cases and eventually put a stop to the crimes of the Black Organization. The series and manga has had an enduring presence in both international and local anime fans.
