Samsung Electronics, in partnership with Disney, rolled out their augmented reality (AR) emojis last March 16, 2018. The set includes beloved Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Throughout the year, they will be releasing more characters from the movies The Incredibles, Zootopia, and Frozen.
These AR emojis can be accessed from the AR emoji mode in the S9 and S9+ cameras. The AR Emojis use deep learning and facial recognition technology to map more than 100 facial features to produce a 3D replica, allowing users to create fun, customized messages to send to friends.
